Honored

Wow been a while since I did a regular post. I guess writing has taken up my time at work. I only did some editing today. I hope to print it out and make copies to gie to some people when I'm done and when I am maybe I can finish and go through the other ones I either thought were done or make something else. Anyway that isn't why this is titled "Honored" it's titled that becuase everyone who knows me, kows I am a reader. I mean like big reader and don't judge me becuase I haven't read anything like Stephen King and The great Gastby, yada yada yada. No I'm more contemperary romance, or young adult or even though I only found one paranormal series I reall really like it's still me reading...Geting off subject here...Anyway, when I joined goodreads.com I found lot's of new books and genre's to encounter and when I stumbled upon a series called Friends With Benefits series and read the synopsis I was hooked. I had to be a fan of this author and become their friend on facebook and goodreads. Well to my surprise it was written by a guy. That's right a freaking guy!! ALmost everything that I have read that had explict sex scenes and female leads they are always written by a woman. No, not the case here. The author's name is Luke Young. he wrote that series and another book called Shrinkage. Here's the book description:

Is it in yet? It's the phrase that no man ever wants to hear. Luckily, Tim Garrett has never heard those words. At least he has never heard them out loud despite being on the wrong side of the bell curve in the male endowment department.

It has taken many years, but Tim has finally come to terms with being slightly below average below the belt. His life isn't bad, he doesn't hate his job, his girlfriend Jill is hot and doesn't seem to mind his physical attribute. Things are good. That is, until the day Jill dumps him and his world comes crashing down around him.

That's when Tim decides to make some changes in his life; big changes. When a bizarre mixture of pills combined with a not-as-directed, inventive use of an electronic device prove incredibly successful, Tim's life begins to change for the better both in and out of the bedroom. But when things grow a little too much, everything spins out of control and the words be careful what you wish for begin to take on an entirely new meaning.

Mock praise for Shrinkage: Shrinkage is an absolute brilliant work of fiction, FICTION. Don't believe anything you read here. We can make you 30% larger permanently. Guaranteed...-- National Association of Male Enhancement Supplements

Now I couldn't really afford the 2.99 kindle price for it so I figured why not read a sample and you know what? I fucking loved it. What brought me to write about this was that well last Thursday I had a facebook message from Ian Dalton. Now you're probably wondering who the hell is this? Well this is Mr. Young's pen name. He wrote The Victoria Wilde series under that name. i haven't gotten to that yet it's a retelling of all The Friends With Benefits books but with more scenes and more explict..anyway back to what I was saying. I'll still call him Luke so I don't confuse you. Like messaged me on Facebook on Thursday saying that he saw I also worked at a Spencer' Gifts and that he was thinking e could sell the book through our company but didn't know how to approach them. so I said well I have work the next night and I would send our CEO, buyers and The Buzz an email saying 'hey you guys need to check this guy out.' We sell Tucker Max's infamous I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell books and Luke said he works for Random House so it was worth a shot. He thanked me and we went on with our day. The next night when I got into work I sent the email to the three places I thought could contact Luke and see what they can do. Well Monday my boss went in and said that the company sent an email saying they are looking into this author. I was so excited and around 7 that night I got another Facebook message saying that my company contacted him and wanted him to mail the book. He mailed it yesterday and we are crossing our fingers that my company picks it up. Now on to why I'm honored. Well, why the hell wouldn't I be? I mean come on, it's always been my dream to do something even something as small as this to help an author out or even to talk to one. I haven't had the pleasure to meet any of my author's since book bash's and what not usually take place in like Texas or somewhere midwest. I guess Baltimore, isn't the first choice for some people (Don't think I'm hating on our city, I'm just saying.) But yes I am honored that I was able to do something to help someone out. That's what I do at both of my jobs, both customer service plus helping serve at my church's coffee bar. I believe in karma and I beleive that if you do good in your life you will have nothing but good things happen to you. Now I will leave you good people to your day, wheather it's hot or cold. Where ever or whoever is seeing this have a fantastical day and I will aslo share what a fortune cookie told me a while ago:
Don't be afriad of opposition; remember, a kite rises against the wind.
